At a glance
I worked for Kounty as a product design intern for 3 months. I worked solely on the Kounty IOS app and redesigned their website. In those 3 months, I created a functional design system, completed the mobile app and completely redesigned the website. I had a wonderful collaboration with the founders, engineers, and PM I worked with.
Problem
Kounty, a well-known restaurant with a history of website-based services, is creating its first mobile app. The challenge is to transition its offerings to this new platform smoothly.
Key issues include designing a user-friendly app, integrating meal ordering, meal plans, and gift cards.
While also educating users, ensuring reliable performance, accommodating different devices, and marketing to existing and potential customers. Addressing these challenges is essential for Kounty to remain competitive in the digital restaurant industry.
Solution
I developed an app that provides convenient and nutritious meal options for users, including quick meal delivery, personalized dietary plans, and gift cards.
Order a meal
This feature allows the user to browse a list of meals from the "Eat now/homepage and place orders. They can track their order while it's in transit and and also have an in-app chat with the dispatch rider.

Buy or redeem a gift card
Users can purchase gift cards for any amount (minimum #5,000.00) from the "Gift Card" page. They can choose when to send it and add personalized messages. Additionally, users can redeem gift cards sent by others, and the value will be added to their in-app wallet.

Subscribe to and personalize meal plan
Users can subscribe to a meal plan for 1 week, 2 weeks, or 1 month. They can customize their meals by selecting the type of meals and the days of the week on which they expect them to be delivered.
Conclusion
I worked with Kounty's founder, PM, and developers to create a website that will help Kounty remain competitive in the digital restaurant industry. The app and website are currently in development.
